I thought that, too, the first time I saw it. Our cat Chase was a diabetic and the vet told me to poke the edge of his ear to test his blood sugar. The stinker wouldn’t let me, though. He folded his ear flat (they’re surprisingly strong), and I couldn’t do it. I didn’t have the heart to persist. It felt like torturing him. He had to go to the vet to be checked.

I’m lucky I can give Ody his shots without any grief. No way I’d get away with pricking his ear… I rely on the vet’s office for that.
